Slaikeu, Dwight
Dwight Slaikeu, 59, of La Porte City, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of pancreatic cancer.
Local survivors include his daughter, Julie (Erich) Lear and their children, Brooklyn, Sydney, Madison and Colton, all of Cedar Rapids.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Waterloo. Burial will be held before the service at 9 a.m. Thursday in the West View Cemetery, La Porte City, where military rites will be conducted by the La Porte City American Legion U.S.S. San Diego Post #207 and the V.F.W. Post 3983. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at La Porte City Funeral Service. Family also will receive friends one hour before the memorial service at the church.
