Slade, Ellen (Micky) M.

Ellen (Micky) M. Slade passed away from a long illness on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Services: private. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 24, 1915, in Oxford, England to John and Ethel Shrimpton. She came to the United States in 1946 and married Wm. O. Slade, whom she met in World War II.

Micky was avid at knitting, sewing, cross stitching and cooking for family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed dancing and music throughout her life.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Sylvia Dowdeswell; and brothers, William Shrimpton and Randolf Shrimpton.

Ellen is survived by her only daughter and husband, Lindalee A. (Jim D.) Germaine of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Jim W. Germaine and wife Katie of Vinton, Jennifer E. Germaine of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Chad J. Germaine and fiancee Kara Hinzie of Cedar Rapids.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
