Skinner, Sandra Kay
Sandra Kay Skinner, 64, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013.
Sandy was born Sept. 2, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Wayne and Betty (Misbach) Steinke. She managed Hills Bros. Jiffy Mart for 35 years.
She had a close knit family and friends who cherished her, including her son, Brian Usher; grandsons, Cody and Spencer Usher; her brother, Richard Steinke; and sister-in-law, Pam Steinke. She has many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who held a special place in her heart and they were the world to her. Sandy's extended family is so big, but her heart was big enough to hold their love.
She was also lucky to have a very close and dear friend who gave her so much joy and love that he will always have a special place in her heart as well.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Skip” Skinner; mother, Betty Burger; father, Wayne Steinke; sister, Bobbie Northrup; and infant sister, Patricia.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Please come celebrate the life of a loving and brave woman on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Wilcox home, 1111 30th Street Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids.
