Sisty, Raymond C.
Raymond C. Sisty, 94, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville, with the Rev. Walter Helms officiating. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church, before the service. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be held following the service, before leaving for the graveside service at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Raymond's memory to St. Thomas More New Season Fund, Iowa City Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association, East Central Iowa Chapter.

Raymond C. Sisty was born Sept. 18, 1916, in Essex, Ontario, Canada, the son of William Lane and Margaret (Hutson) Sisty. He graduated in 1934, from Morenci High School in Michigan. On Dec. 2, 1939, he married Beatrice A. Rofe in Toldedo, Ohio.
He served in the United States Army from 1946 and 1949. For over 30 years, Raymond was employed as a supervisor of Material and Production Control for General Motors in their Fisher Body Divisions located in Pontiac and Livonia, Mich. The couple lived in Farmington, Mich. for many years where Raymond was a member of the Catholic Church, the Pontiac/Waterford Fraternal Order of the Elks and the SAR.
Upon retirement, he and Beatrice moved to Spring Hill, Fla., for 12 years before moving to the Iowa City area to be closer to their family. Raymond was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville.
His family includes his daughter and her husband, Nancy and John LePeau of Iowa City, and his granddaughter, Lucy Anne LePeau of Washington. D.C.; and one sister, Barbara Ferris and her husband, Merland of Basin, Wyo.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beatrice on Feb. 10, 1999; and siblings, Alice Bantle, Eva Mae Dan, Violet Downes, Betty Phelps, Mara Sisty, Richard Sisty and William Sisty.
