Sissel, Robert J.
Funeral services for Robert J. Sissel, 66, of Tipton, who died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton, with Father David Hitch officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with a rosary following visitation vigil at 5 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Tipton, with full military rites.

Robert, son of Jefferson A. and Ruth D. Inghram Sissel, was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Johnson County, Iowa. He was a graduate of Tipton High School and attended Military Electricians School. Robert served in the United States Navy from 1965-1967. On Feb. 24, 1968, Robert was united in marriage to Rita Lynn Jedlicka in Tipton.
Robert was co-owner of S & C Machining in Tipton for many years and later owned and operated the Tipton Bakery. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Tipton VFW.
He is loved and survived by his wife, Rita Sissel of Tipton; daughters, Renée Jean (Gary) Sissel Crock of Tipton and Rebecca Lynn (Tyler) Sissel Tritten of Iowa City; grandchildren, Quentin Crock and Alyssa Crock; sisters, Jeraldine Musser of Warren, Ill., Dorothy Thomas of Tipton, and Dolores (Ross) Leeper of Tipton; brother, Jim Sissel of Tipton; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Jefferson Sissel.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Mercy Iowa City, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Continuing Care Hospital at St. Luke's, St. Luke's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Simpson Memorial Home, The Tipton Lions Club and Iowa City Hospice, all of whom made this journey with us.
