Sippy, Keith
Keith Sippy, 46, has died in his home in Central City, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 31, 2010, from 5 to 7 p.m., with a short memorial service to follow at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Chaplain Jeremy Hudson will officiate. Keith's cremains will be buried at a later date.
Survivors include his mother, Marilyn Sippy of Marion; sister, Karen (Randy) Martis of Warwick, N.Y.; aunt, Lisa Perrin; maternal cousin, Gilbert and family; uncle, Allen Sippy of Hiawatha; and many other Sippy relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Dayton; many close relatives of his father; and his maternal cousin, Elizabeth.
Keith was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and lived his entire youth in Marion. He graduated from Linn-Mar High School in 1982; 4 ½ years later, he graduated from the University of Iowa, with a major in business. Keith was self-employed and mainly worked with computers. However, he volunteered many hours helping with construction at the Eastern Iowa Observatory at Palisades-Dows Preserve. He also generously shared his many, assorted talents with his family and friends.
Keith enjoyed computers, astronomy, nature, photography, gardening, boating, shooting pool, following the Cubs, and especially visiting with his many friends.
Keith was a wonderful son, brother, and friend. His intelligence, helpfulness, sense of fun, and kindness will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eastern Iowa Observatory and Learning Center of the Cedar Amateur Astronomers, P.O. Box 10786, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
