Singelstad, Grace A.
Grace A. Singelstad, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brenda Peconge. Burial: Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home.
Grace is survived by three sons, William K. (Marilyn) MacAllister of Morristown, N.J., Jon (Pearl) Singelstad of Onawa and Steven (Carol) Singelstad of French Lick, Ind.; two daughters, Sharyl and Linda Singelstad, both of Cedar Rapids; four granddaughters, Sandra, Colleen, Amanda and Ashley; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Matthew, J.T., Jackson, Karson, Emma and Kynleigh; brother, Howard Tisher of Cedar Rapids; sister, Isla Evers of Aurora, Ill.; and three nieces and one nephew.
Her husband, Christopher; parents; daughter, Jeannette MacAllister; sister, Jean Brown; and two brothers, John and Kenneth Tisher, preceded Grace in death.
Grace was born April 4, 1921, in Robins, the daughter of Charles and Pearl St. Claire Tisher. She married Christopher Singelstad on April 5, 1952, in Muscatine. Grace was a member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church. She worked in food service for the Cedar Rapids School District and retired from the alterations department at JCPenney's in 1985.
Grace enjoyed sewing, hardanger and quilting.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church.
