Siex, Helen
Helen Siex, 87, of Marion, formerly of Phoenix, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: private. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, James (Judy) Siex of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Nancy Leach of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Kim (Dusty) Minor and Christina (Roy) Rasmussen, both of Cedar Rapids, Carrie (James) Oliver of Hamilton, Ill., and Anthony Siex of Central City; and four great-grandchildren, Jordon, Cheyenne, MaKenzie and Denym.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Siex; her parents; a brother and a sister.
Helen was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Wyoming, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Ina (Kerr) Warren. She married Robert L. Siex on July 27, 1946, in Sterling, Ill. Helen was an RN at St. Luke's Hospital for 20 plus years and was a member of the Aquarelles Swim Club. She enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona.
