Siemsen, Norma Jean Muirhead

Beloved mother and grandmother, Norma Jean Muirhead Siemsen died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, in Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery, Bennett. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Norma was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Tipton, Iowa, and was the daughter of William Cullen and Lillian U. (Erikson) Muirhead. Norma graduated in 1950 from Tipton High School and was united in marriage to Harlen Harry Siemsen on Nov. 26, 1950, in Tipton. She worked alongside of her husband on their farm and was an excellent homemaker, mother and grandmother.

Norma was a member of Peace Church of Christ United in Bennett and lived her entire life in Cedar County. Norma was involved with both Tipton and Bennett Senior Citizens and loved playing cards and bingo and appreciated her many friends she made through those activities.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Michael) Minde of Richardson, Texas; son, Kevin (Pamela) Siemsen of Marshalltown; grandchildren, Angela, Joshua and Brionna; and sister, Marian (Robert) Taylor of West Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlen, on Dec. 16, 1993; her parents; and sisters, Lois Warmuth and June Werling.

A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
