Sieck Sr., Donald
Donald Sieck Sr., 79, of Fayette, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, Wis., from natural causes. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette. Friends may call from 3 until 6 p.m. today at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette and one hour before services Monday at the church.
Don was united in marriage with Bethel C. Biemann on July 27, 1953, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Westgate. She preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 2007. Don was a lifelong farmer near Fayette.
Don is survived by seven children, Steve (Patty) Sieck of North Glen, Colo., Kathy (Ed) Traeger of Readlyn, Iowa, Donald (Shelly) Sieck Jr. of Fayette, David Sieck of Fayette, Karen (Glen) McCort of Cedar Rapids, Susie (Mark) Caffrey of Minnetonka, Minn., and Robbie (Faye) Sieck of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Doris) Sieck of Maynard; and one sister, Ruth “Toots” Sieck of Fayette.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Bethel; one grandson, Dylan McCort; his parents, Herman and Isabel; two stepmothers, Melinda (Schlatter) Sieck and Florence (Yelden) Sieck; and one sister, Vera, who died in infancy.
