Siders, Floyd 'Kenny'
Floyd “Kenny” Siders, 91, of Marion, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, in The Villages. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Philip Thompson. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil service will begin at 4 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Siders; his sons, Kenneth “Dave” Siders and wife Renee of Washington, Mo., Richard “Dick” Siders and wife Janifer of Marion and Thomas Siders and wife Laurie of Minneapolis; a sister, Ruth Chelf of West Liberty; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James J. Siders; a brother and three sisters.
Kenny was born April 2, 1921, in Mechanicsville, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Nellie (Devore) Siders. He married Charlotte Nortman on July 16, 1941, in West Liberty. Kenny was sales manager for Hometown Dairy. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and served on the board of education in the Solon School District.
Kenny loved golfing, fishing, and was a fan of the Chicago Cubs. Kenny loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending the many activities they were active in. He and Charlotte enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
