Siders, Charlotte
Charlotte Siders, 88, of Marion, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in the Villages. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, where a vigil service will begin at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, with a visitation beginning at 9 a.m.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth “Dave” (Renee) Siders of Washington, Mo., Richard “Dick” (Janifer) Siders of Marion and Thomas (Laurie) Siders of Minneapolis, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years, Kenny; a son, James J. Siders; one brother; and five sisters.
Charlotte was born Sept. 28, 1924, in West Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Louise (Meyer) Nortman. She married Kenneth Siders July 16, 1941, in West Liberty. Charlotte worked for American College Testing. She was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Charlotte loved reading, traveling and particularly spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their many activities. She and Kenny enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Family wishes memorials be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church in memory of Charlotte.
