Shock, Kristine Marie
Kristine Marie Shock, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday morning, March 6, 2011, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, Cedar Rapids, by Deacon Jim Berger. Burial: Campbell Cemetery, rural Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Kristine is survived by three children, Bernadine Kinnan of Ottawa, Ill., Robert Clymer (Mary Ann) of Cedar Rapids, and John Shock of Cedar Rapids.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bertha “Bernadine” (Chvatik) Zacek; brother, John Zacek; half sister, Catherine Wadian; her first husband, Walter Clymer; her second husband, John Shock; her son-in-law, Joe Kinnan; and a great-grandson, Christopher Kinnan.
Kristine was born June 14, 1918, in Moquah, Wis., and lived most of her life in Cedar Rapids. She was employed at New Process Laundry, Turner Microphone Co. and retired from cleaning houses for people.
Kristine was a long time parishioner of St. Ludmila Catholic Church. She was proud of her Czech heritage. Kristine was loved by many and will be dearly missed my her friends and family.
The family would like to extend thanks to Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center and Hospice of the exemplary care and love provided to Kristine in her final months.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be given in Kristine's memory to St. Ludmila Catholic Church.
