Shirley Ann Sander, 89, of Marion, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion following an extended Illness. Per her wisher, no memorial services will be held.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherry (Denny) Franklin of Terrell, Texas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ina (Bill) Nelson; her sister, Lorraine (Charles) Price; husband, Ken Sander; son, Dan Starks; and her grandson, Shannon Starks.
Shirley was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ralph and Mabel (Merrifield) Dew. She was a graduate of Cedar Rapids Wilson High School. Shirley was employed as a waitress at Killians Tea Room. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls, Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed.
