Shirley Roof, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
She was born May 18, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of John T. and Nettie (Hopper) Dean. She married Bob Roof on Sept. 6, 1947, in Buffalo. She was a homemaker who volunteered with the American Cancer Society for 45 years. She was a member of Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls.
She is survived by her husband of Cedar Falls; four sons, Bob (Kay) of Manchester, John (Beth) of Cedar Rapids, Pete (Chris) of Duncan, Ariz., and Tom (Tina) of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, Rob (Cassandra), Marcy (Chris), Lawson, Ryan (Melissa), Brad, Jeanne, Audrey (Joe), Sam and James; and three great grandchildren, Joceyln, Tre and Belen.
She was preceded in death by a daughter,
Barbara Ann Roof.
Services were held March 30, 2015, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls.
