Shirley A. Rinehart, 70, of Victor, passed away on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Brooklyn Community Estates in Brooklyn, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, with the family present at 4 p.m., at Smith Funeral Home in Victor. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Victor with Pastor Jim Davis officiating.

Shirley was born on June 21, 1945, to Loren and Lucille (Burrell) Lowery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was raised in Urbana and graduated from Urbana High School in 1963. After high school, she began working at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. In 1969, she married Robert Rinehart. The couple farmed near Victor. Shirley also provided child care for local families.
Shirley was an active member of the Victor United Methodist Church. Shirley taught Sunday school for 20 years and was a member of the church women's circles. She was also a member of the Friendly Neighbor Club. She was a caring and thoughtful person and enjoyed baking cookies, square dancing, traveling throughout the United States and watching Iowa basketball games. She adored her granddaughters.
She will be missed by her husband of 46 years, Robert; one son, Kevin (Miriam) Rinehart of Waukee; one sister, Sherry (Harlan) Burke of Guernsey; three brothers, Lyle (Donna) Lowery of Cedar Rapids, Burrell (Catherine) Lowery of North Andover, Mass., and Bradley (Roberta) Lowery of Wiley, Texas; two granddaughters, Grace and Faith Rinehart of Waukee; and one brother in-law, Raymond (Donnabelle) Rinehart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister in-law, Rachel Stoker; and brother in-law, Raymond "Spud" Stoker.
