Shirley Yvonne Merritt, 73, of Anamosa, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at Jones Regional Hospital with her loving family by her side. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Anamosa. There will be a luncheon following the service.
Shirley was born May 11, 1943, to Clifford and Leona Taylor in Anamosa, Iowa. On May 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert Merritt. She loved to go for long drives in the country, being out in nature watching the birds and spending time in the garden. Most of all, she loved spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Vicki Mull, Rod Merritt, Mary (Jason) Franks and Tanya (Tim) Kruger; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Robert Taylor and Patricia Taylor.
