Shirley Mae Cathcart, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away July 21, 2018, at West Ridge Nursing Home. The family will hold a private graveside service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Shirley was born in Cedar Rapids on May 30, 1926, the daughter of Esther and Edwin Frish. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She did water aerobics two to three times a week for more than 20 years at the old YWCA and Bender pool.
Through the years she enjoyed tending her herb and flower gardens, playing bridge with a neighborhood group, collecting antiques and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2015; her parents; and her brother, Dr. Dean Frish.
Memorials may be directed to the family in Shirley's memory.
