Shirley Ann (Sharp) LaBarr went to her Heavenly reward on Oct. 20, 2014, passing peacefully in her sleep.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph J. LaBarr (fondly called "Sonny"); their son, Sid LaBarr; her parents, and sister, Phyllis Tourtelotte.
She is survived by her son, Chris Anthony LaBarr and wife Winona; daughter, Becky Ann LaBarr; eight grand-children; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Norma Lea and Don Kvindlog; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was born and raised in central Iowa. In 1959, she and Ralph moved their young family to Colorado, where they established three businesses: Campers Inc., LaBarr Printing and Publishing and Versa Tab, their Christian products company.
Shirley was a teacher of the Bible and an author. She and Ralph became born-again believers in Jesus Christ on Oct. 1, 1968, and were active in the church and community until the times of their deaths.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Father's House Vineyard Church, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial: Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo., at a later date.
