Shirley Ann Krotz, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, in her home with her family with her. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her children, Frankie (Tami) Abben of Anamosa, Jerry (Karen) Abben of Cedar Rapids, Jack Abben of Cedar Rapids, Julie Abben of Cedar Rapids and Archie (Lisa) Abben of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are a brother, Charles Bottoms of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Kenneth Abben and Eddie Krotz; and a granddaughter, Katlin Abben.
Shirley was born May 9, 1937, in Carthage, Ill., the daughter of Archie and Edna (Embree) Bottoms. She married Kenneth Abben in 1956 in Sheffard, Iowa, and Eddie Krotz in 1983 in Cedar Rapids. Shirley was a foster care parent. She enjoyed going to the casinos and playing bingo.
