Shirley Ann (Brown) Kopp, 66, of Marion, formerly of New Hampton, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Scripture service: 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 27, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion.
Shirley is survived by her husband, David Kopp; children, Kelly (Ryan) Daily of St. Joseph, Mich., Lucy (Frank) McCutcheon of Iowa City and Beau Kopp of Marion; grandchildren, Madeline and Lucille Daily and Derrick McCutcheon; stepgrandchildren, Justice Lozano, Arial, Amari and Franki McCutcheon; brothers, Bill and Larry Brown; and sister, Susanne Olson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley was born Dec. 16, 1949, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Delmer and Lucille (Miller) Brown. She graduated from New Hampton High School and Young's School of Beauty in Cedar Rapids. On Oct. 21, 1972, in New Hampton, she married David Kopp. Shirley was self-employed as a cosmetologist at Shirley K's Beauty Shop, until retiring in 2004. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
