Shirley K. McDonald, 73, of Central City, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Shirley. Shirley Kathleen Wagner was born on Dec. 13, 1948, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Harold L. and Helen L. (Shimak) Wagner. She was a graduate of L&M High School. After high school, Shirley worked at Mall Wholesale. On Sept. 7, 1969, Shirley was united in marriage to Steven A. McDonald in Columbus Junction. Shirley worked at EconoFoods and later Linn Mar Community Schools in Marion. She attended the Troy Mills Christian Church and enjoyed going to Branson and visiting with friends.
Shirley will be dearly missed by her husband, Steven McDonald of Central City; her children, Heidi (Scott) McDonald of Cedar Rapids and Brian McDonald of Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Dan “Joe” (Connie) Wagner of Wapello.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronald Wagner.
