Shirley Joyce Kellogg of Cedar Rapids passed away on Dec. 17, 2023. Private graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Surviving are her two daughters, Lynn Kellogg and Ann Gray, both of Marion; a granddaughter, Jamie Gray, and two great-grandchildren, Shayla and Drake of Fairfax.
Also surviving is one brother, Dr Ken (Audrey) Johannsen of Storm Lake, five nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Roger W. Johannsen, four nephews, and one niece in infancy.
Shirley was born Dec. 27, 1926, in a farm home near Schleswig, Iowa, to Wilbert and Irene (Krohnke) Johannsen. She graduated from Schleswig High School in 1944 and then attended Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha and St. John's College in Winfield, Kan.
She worked at Farmers State Bank, the law office of Morris Allen in Marion, and then for Rockwell Collins for 16 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
