Shirley Ellen Louise Anderson Reynolds went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2025, peacefully surrounded by everyone who loved her. Shirley was born on February 9, 1935, in Richland, Iowa, to Edith Gingles. Shirley enjoyed spending her time with family and friends after she retired from Cooper’s Mill. In Shirley’s free time when she was not with her grandchildren or great-grandchildren, she loved her garden. Shirley was a devout Christian. Shirely was a member of the First Open Bible Church for nearly 70 years.
Shirley was a wonderful mother of 5 children, Wayne (Julie) Anderson, Brian (Tina) Anderson, Patricia (Richard) Sedlacek, son-in-law Joe Sherbon, and three stepchildren, Art, Chas and Clarissa; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her two husbands Loren Anderson and John Reynolds, two children Marsha Sherbon and Larry Anderson, one grandchild Travis Anderson, her parents and many other family members.
Funeral arrangements made by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Visitation is at First Open Bible Church, 1911 E Ave. NW Cedar Rapids, on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10 – 11 am with Funeral Services following from 11 am – 12:30 pm and burial following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations for the Hospice House of Mercy or First Open Bible Church.
