Shirley Ann Philipp, 76, passed away on November 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Shirley is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tim; her daughter Tonia (Chad) Bildstein of Ely; granddaughters Sydney (Anson) and Katlyn; daughter Kristina (Mike) Burhite of Ely; granddaughters Cheyenne and Ace Mulford; grandson Zach (Mikayla) Burhite; great-grandson Noah; great-granddaughter Kaelynn; sister Linda Neyens of Cedar Rapids; brother Phil Neyens. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ronald.
Shirley was born July 10, 1948 to Alfred and Aileen Neyens in Espanola, New Mexico. She graduated
from LaSalle High School in Cedar Rapids. She worked in the histology lab for St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for 52 years before retiring in 2019. Shirley married Timothy Philipp on July 7, 1973 in Cedar Rapids at St. Patrick’s Church. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, reading and especially dancing. There was nothing more important to Shirley than her beloved family. She was truly one of a kind. A true angel on earth whose beautiful soul will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
