Shirlene E. Weaver, 85, of Iowa City, formerly of Clarence, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Clarence United Methodist Church, Clarence, with Pastor Carol Mart and Joe Ledvina officiating. Burial will follow in Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Shirlene was born July 20, 1931, to Wilmot and Genevieve (Morgan) Lendt in Tipton, Iowa. She married Kenneth Weaver on June 29, 1950, in Clarence. Shirlene graduated from Clarence High in 1950.
She loved going south for the winter, dancing and attending big family gatherings. Shirlene also enjoyed time at the lake and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; sons, Mike (Bonnie) of The Villages, Fla., Mark (Margaret) of Davenport and Mervin (Patrice) of Lisbon; daughters, Marcy Lamp of Iowa City and Lisa (Ross) Hunwardsen of Fairmont, Minn.; sisters, Donna (Lee) Schweiger of Princeton and Sherry (Larry) Ledvina of Bettendorf; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Shirlene was preceded in death by her parents.
