SHERYL "SHERRY" ANN JOHNSON

Sheryl "Sherry" Ann Johnson, 59, of Walford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life gathering will be 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Sheryl was born May 10, 1958, in Sturgis, S.D., the daughter of Dan and Marge (Baker) Dutton. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, class of 1976. Sherry was united in marriage to Don Johnson on Sept. 5, 1981, in St. Ludmila Catholic Church. Sherry worked at Rockwell Collins, West Side Transport, Airborne Express and Avadyne Health. She enjoyed camping, being in nature, traveling to national parks and, most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Katie Johnson and Chris Johnson, both of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Payton and Wyatt; her mother, Marge Kurth of Mount Vernon; her siblings, Vicky Higgins of Wisconsin, Roger (Theresa) Dutton of Cedar Rapids, Ross Dutton of Mount Vernon and Randy Kurth of Cedar Rapids; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
