Sheryl Lynn Gilson, 56, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Sheryl was born September 1, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Virginia Hammond. Sheryl was a jack of all trades in the workforce. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kira Mein; granddaughter, Kenzie Sanders; son, Karee Kimball; four sisters, Barb Akers, Candy Lohse, Charity Clary and Summer Gilson; brother, Randy Hammond; her turtle, Francine, and numerous loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Hammond; son, Michael Dickson; and sister Tammy Fairchild.
