Sheryl Elizabeth Vaughn, 52, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, of a sudden illness at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital. Sheryl was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Prairie High School and was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible. She was involved in many faith groups on Facebook and was an avid computer gamer. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jay Atwater; children, Brittney Vaughn and Matthew Vaughn of Cedar Falls, Iowa; brother, William Johnson Jr.; sisters, Robyn (David) Warren, Julie (Joey) McIntyre and Pamela Johnson; her mother, Kitty Johnson; many nieces and nephews and the entire Atwater family.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Johnson; sister, Joni Miller; brothers, Scott Johnson and Jeffrey Cron; and maternal and paternal grandparents
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Burial will be at Mount Clark cemetery at a later date.
