SHERRY NODURFT
SHERRY LYNN NODURFT
Woodstock, Ill.
Sherry Lyn Nodurft was born Jan. 29, 1964, in Woodstock, Ill., to Jim and Susan Nodurft. The Lord blessed the world that day.
On Aug. 28, 2018, he called her in after a battle with liver cancer and internal bleeding. Sherry never complained. In May, Sherry was able to visit her family that she had not seen for 26 years, traveling to Little Rock, Ark.
Survivors include her father, Jim; sisters, Susan (Terry) Tilley, Kim (Michael) Dickson and Lori (Randy) Dickson; half sister, Scarlet Patterson; half brother, James Nordurft, all of Jessieville, Ark.; half sister, Kelly Nordurft (Charlie) of Cedar Rapids; grandmother, Marie Nordurft of Springville, Ill.; an unconditional friend, Robert Hollocheck of Marion; and significant other, Roger Hartgrave of Rowley.
Sherry got most of her schooling in Manchester and was emancipated at 16 to Cedar Rapids, where she spent most of her life. Sherry always paid her own way. Sherry did not have an easy life by far that being said. What happened on Monday must be forgotten on Tuesday. She had that knack for burying the bad.
Sherry enjoyed swimming and was very good at diving. She enjoyed music, especially Stevie Nicks, James Taylor and Pete Townsend. She liked potatoes, tacos and salmon.
It's taken me almost two months to write this notice and I'm sorry, Sherry, but if a person knew you they would know there will never be another. I'm so honored to have had spent all those years together with you. You are truly missed every day, my good friend. Please rest in peace, Sherry. You showed me what true love and loyalty was about along with forgiveness. Lord, you got a good one, take my word.
