Sherman, Richard L.
Richard L. Sherman, 74, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab, died there Monday, Jan. 4, 2010. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday at Seventh Day-Adventist Church, 4401 42nd St. NE, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Anne; his children and stepchildren, Dana Morgan, Dan Morgan and MacKenzie Morgan; step great-granddaughter, Brittney Morgan-Dusol, all of Cedar Rapids; a half sister, Florence Stingley of Savanna, Ill.; and his beloved pets, Cloie and Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard was born March 17, 1935, in Iowa City, the son of Charles and Dorothy Butters Sherman. He married Anne Hathaway on June 19, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. Richard worked in manufacturing and was a member of Seventh Day-Adventist Church. He enjoyed reading his Bible and spreading the word of God. Richard also loved spending time with his granddaughter and watching sci-fi.
