Shelly Bryan, 45, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Please dress casually, especially in band and concert T-shirts.
Survivors include her children, Zakk Bryan, Rhiannon Bryan and Miranda Bryan, all of Mechanicsville; significant other, Andy McGhghy of Mechanicsville; sister, Brandi (Brandon) Sissel of Stanwood; brother, Chad (Toni) Sulzner of Mechanicsville; former husband, Rich Bryan of Mechanicsville; nieces and nephews; and her faithful companions, dogs Thor and Navi and cats Magik and Coots.
Shelly was born Feb. 4, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Gary Mullan and Linda Ralston. Shelly graduated from Lincoln High School in 1988. She worked as a CNA at Hallmark Care Center for 17 years. Shelly loved music and going to concerts.
She will be remembered for being a jokester, always having fun with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed Halloween with her collection of masks.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Sulzner; grandmother, Lillian Woods; and great-grandparents, John and Mildred Vosdingh.
