Shellmire, Michael R.
Michael R. Shellmire, 49, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Iasha Shellmire of Cedar Rapids; father, Tierney Shellmire of Louisiana; mother, Laura Faulkner of St. Louis; grandchildren, Aaliyah and Treyvon; sister, Ella Shellmire of Illinois; and mother-in-law, Dora Wise of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many other loving family members.
Born Oct. 16, 1964, in Los Angeles, Calif., Michael was the son of Tierney Shellmire and Laura (Hopson) Faulkner. On Feb. 8, 1988, he was united in marriage to Gloria Wise in St. Paul, Minn.
A memorial fund has been established in Michael's memory.
