Shelby Jean Foley, age 81, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away after a long illness, on Monday, April 1, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Shelby was born June 5, 1942, in Bethlehem, PA, the daughter of Andres John and Eva Sarah (Miller) Stahl. She graduated from high school and worked as a nurse and then shifted her career to flowers and gardening, owning her own flower shop and craft store in Pennsylvania. Shelby married Terrance “Terry” Lee Foley on December 12, 1992 in Virginia and they eventually moved to Cedar Rapids where they made their home. She volunteered for the Linn County Master Gardeners and received the Master Gardener of the Year award and became a Lifetime Master Gardener. Shelby was a very talented and wonderful person, and a loving wife.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Foley; his children, Scott (Karin) Foley and Matthew ( Lori ) Foley; her children, Lori and Mark; several grandchildren; her sisters, Judy Hlavinka and Cheryl Regalis; sisters-in-law, Monica Mould and Kathleen Buchert and many other friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael.
