Sheila Behn
SHEILA RAE (DAVID) BEHN
Vinton
Sheila Rae (David) Behn, 79, peacefully passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by family on March 29, 2021. Public visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom.
Sheila was born in Forest City, Iowa, on Aug. 7, 1941. She graduated from Washington High School and furthered her education at the University of Nebraska in the field of radiological technology. She then served as an X-Ray technician before changing careers and working 21 years at Collins Community Credit Union. Upon retirement, Sheila volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was a member of St. George Church. Sheila loved spending time with her family and friends and very seldom missed watching the Chicago Cubs. She particularly enjoyed her monthly gatherings with the Ladies Club, as well as co-leading the carryout duties for the annual church dinner with her best friend and sister, Linda. In fact, other than her children, nobody spent more time with Sheila than her sister Linda and friend Cheryl.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, John (Denise) Behn, Shelly (Ron) Pennington and Scott (JoEllen) Behn; grandchildren, Dalton (Gina) Pennington and Jackson, Nolan, Mason and Tyson Behn; sister, Linda (Steve); brother, Mike (Teresa); and her longtime close friend, Cheryl Bell.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eli; and her mother, Schafia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice or St. George Church.
