Shawna Derynck, 49, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Nov. 19, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Robins Community Center.
Survivors include her sister, Melinda; mother, Nancy; niece Maryssa (Jaime); nephews Quinten and Izayah; great-niece Adalynn and great-nephew Mateo. She was preceded in death by her father David; paternal grandparents Silven and Irene Derynck; and maternal grandparents Raymond and Marcella Batchelder.
Shawna was a 1992 graduate of Kennedy High School. She was employed over 20 years with Iowa Answering Service. Her main loves were her cats Kookie and Lucy and the K pop group BTS. She also enjoyed doing diamond paintings and watching the Cubs win or lose! She will be greatly missed by so many friends and family, including her dear friend Kathryn.
