Shawn William Michael Kiger (1992-2023) was born in the south. At the age of 7 his mother entered him into the foster care system. He attended many schools in Iowa and later earned his GED. Shawn was goal oriented on earning his bachelor’s in business, which he was working towards. On May 1, 2023 Shawn drove 2 hours to his girlfriend’s work to propose because he couldn’t wait to put a ring on her finger. On June 1, 2023 they found out they were expecting. Shawn and his fiancé planned for a destination wedding in fall of 2024. What he wanted most was a family of his own. Shawn was beyond excited to be a dad in early 2024 to his son. He enjoyed fishing, grilling, watching sports and hanging out with his family. He leaves behind a small group of close friends who were like brothers, his sister, brother-in-law, fiancé, and newborn son from Cedar Rapids. His last wish was to be cremated and be at home with his family he created.
