Shaw, Mary Ellen
Mary Ellen Shaw, 72, of Independence, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Buchanan County Health Center LTC following a long illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at First Baptist Church, Independence. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home in Independence.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Shaw Jr.; and her four children, Penny, Cindy, Frank M. and Dave.
Born Dec. 15, 1937, in Hamilton County, north of Blairsburg, Iowa, Mary Ellen married Frank Shaw Jr. on Nov. 15, 1959, in Webster City. Mary Ellen and Frank were owners and operators of Shaw Plumbing and Heating in Independence until retiring in 1999.
A memorial fund has been established for Cedar Valley Hospice, Independence.
