Sharon Creger Shaffer, 52, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at her home Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor David Dyrland. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, David Gagnon; son, Scott Shaffer of Cedar Rapids; stepsons, Brian (Eleni) Gagnon of Canton, Mass., and Michael (Maggie) Gagnon of Des Moines, Wash.; her siblings, Kenneth (Cathy) Creger of Yukon, Okla., Dawn (Michael) Dennis of Cedar Rapids and Michael (Emily) Creger of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Kathy Miller of Cedar Rapids and Jodi James of Parker, Colo.; and special dog, Greta.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents.
Sharon was born April 28, 1962, the daughter of Davis and Mary Jane (Antles) Creger in Kingsville, Texas. A 1980 Jefferson High School graduate, she worked at Smulekoff's and then GE Capital, where she has worked for the last 23 years. On May 29, 2013, Sharon married David Gagnon in Las Vegas.
Sharon was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles and enjoyed swimming in her backyard pool.
