Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharon was born on March 11, 1949, in Champaign, Ill., the daughter of Herbert and Elsie Manning Ragel. She married Carl Tawney on Oct. 19, 1968, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Champaign, Ill. Sharon worked at Duane Arnold Energy Plant for many years before becoming a massage therapist. She was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church, St. John XXIII Catholic Church and most recently St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Sharon and Carl would take communion to those who were homebound.
Sharon was a talented quilter, and shared the outputs of her love of gardening, cooking and baking with her friends. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and always had music playing through the home. 'Nana' to her grandchildren, Sharon enjoyed every second she could with them; never missing an opportunity to cheer them on.
