She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister (Jo Peek), brother (Bud Beadles), and stepdaughter, Lisa Crane. She has many nieces and nephews as well.
Many of those who knew her thought of her as a second mom. She was comforting, supportive, nurturing and kind. She lent a listening ear to whomever needed it.
Sharon had a fervent heart for volunteering, pouring endless hours into a multitude of organizations: Faith Life children’s ministry, church choir and hospitality team, Sweet Adeline’s women’s choir, Aid to Women, Stephen’s Ministry, Crossroad’s Mission, Mercy Hospice and much more. Sharon was a beautiful example of being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Sharon worked off and on in banking throughout her career (where she met her future husband in the drive thru). Her fondest memories were being a stay-at-home Mom and super Grandma.
Sharon trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. This was the most important focus in her life to the very end. She expressed this to her friends and family. Praying with them was very important to her. She loved people well and told them so at every opportunity. She was truly one of a kind.
Sharon’s family wants to give many thanks and appreciation to Mercy Cedar Rapids Home Care and Mercy Hospice who poured tireless hours into Sharon in her last months and days. Your service, heart and devotion will never be forgotten.
The Family asks instead of flowers, please direct financial donations to Mercy Hospice and Faith Life Lutheran Church to continue to support end of life for other families and bringing more cherished lives to Christ.
