Sharon Marie (Kobusch) Blaser, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at home on Nov. 26, 2018. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, with a rosary beginning at 4 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Stateroom, 4200 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 2310 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Sharon was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Waukon, Iowa, the eldest of five children, to Clem and Jeanne (Delaney) Byrnes. Sharon graduated from St. Patrick High School in Waukon and then attended Ottumwa Heights College.
She married Robert Kobusch on Oct. 12, 1963. Together, they raised seven children, until his death in 1999. Sharon was a homemaker for many years, a job she considered most rewarding, and later worked at St. Luke's and PCI. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, gardening, canning and baking. Sharon married Robert Blaser in 2007 and, together, they shared 11 wonderful years.
Sharon was a devoted wife, loving mother and beloved grandmother. She was very devoted to her faith and a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church for 55 years. Sharon will be remembered for her love of life, generosity and friendship, qualities which will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert Blaser; seven children, Lisa (Doug) Sawyer, Robb Kobusch, Mike (Cindy) Kobusch, Chris Kobusch, Kelly (Brad) Schoeberl, Andy (Emily) Kobusch and Sara (Steve) Patton; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Noreen (Vince) Koch, Jim (Pat) Byrnes, Dale (Celeste) Byrnes and Connie (Mitch) Harmsen; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Kobusch; and grandson, Quinn.
Memorials may be directed in Sharon's name to St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Catholic Worker House or Catholic Charities.
