Sharon L. "Tate" Tatro, 83, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, Nov, 5, 2020, at Crestridge Care Center in Maquoketa. According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Tate was born on Jan. 13, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Vera (Smith) Tatro. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1957. He married Thelma Butters on Aug. 23, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tate was manager of Clinton Wilbert Vaults from 1973 to 2000 and had worked at Dow Chemical Co. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Clinton.
Tate is survived by his wife, Thelma of Clinton; four children, Cecilia (Curt) McNabb of Cedar Rapids, Denise Foley of Mankato, Minn., Douglas (Mary) Tatro of Rock Island, Ill., and James "Jay" (Daniel Venker) Tatro of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
