Sharon Kay Loesel, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, in her home. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family inurnment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Sharon was born March 8, 1943, in Davenport, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel (Cummings) Butterfield. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Loesel on Dec. 30, 1961, in Iowa City. She worked most of her life in the catering business, retiring after 43 years at LJ's Mobile Catering. She enjoyed listening to music, taking an occasional trip to the casino, and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her children, Tammy (Kevin) Ousley of Walford, Cindy (Tony) Vaughn of Cedar Rapids, Tim Loesel of Marion and Joey Loesel of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and her siblings, Dennis Butterfield, Bev Mitchell and Daniel Butterfield, all of Cedar Rapids, and Steven Butterfield and Ruthie Sisco, both of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Mark Loesel; and a great-granddaughter, Charlie Jo Vaughn.
