SHARON MARIE BERNAUER BRYERS
Cedar Rapids
Sharon Marie Bernauer Bryers, born Nov. 8, 1961, died Thursday, May 26, 2022, suddenly of natural causes.
She leaves behind two young adult children, Christina Bryers and Sam Bryers. She is mourned by her father, Norbert Bernauer, and partner, June Feireisel; sisters, Linda Kuster and Maribeth Hill; brother, Michael Bernauer and sister-in-law, Leona, along with 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Bernauer; husband, William Bryers; and two brother-in-laws, Doren Kuster and Michael Hill.
Sharon was eager to start her life, being born eight weeks premature, and kept that zest for life always. She was not beyond a little mischief and two of her favorite partners in crime growing up in Chicago were Julie and Ruth. Sharon was a good athlete, exceling in track and basketball. She was outgoing, smart, funny, kind-hearted, creative and hard-working.
The loves of her life were her two children. She was so proud of them and cherished their love. She was a hockey mom, a football mom, a cheer mom, a gymnast mom and more. She could organize a sports fundraiser, host a fun backyard swim party and was always the life of the party. She had a successful professional career in event management and marketing.
Sharon loved music – two of her favorites were Kelly Clarkson and Daughtry. She could cut a mean rug on the dance floor. She enjoyed traveling, with Florida, Mexico, or any spot with a beautiful beach being her favorites.
Sharon had a great personality and made friends easily. Her colleagues enjoyed her and her clients always asked for her. One characteristic of Sharon's was her infectious, unique laugh. Once at a comedy club with her siblings and spouses, the comedian called her out for her crazy laugh. We all had lots of giggles over that. One of her best talents was her culinary skills. She was known for several of her recipes, which she carefully guarded. Only recently did she reveal the secret sauce for her steak tacos to her son.
Gone too soon, our dear sister, mother, daughter and friend will be forever remembered, forever loved, always so very close to our hearts. Rest in peace little Froggie. You persevered through it all.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer in Chicago, Ill. Memorials to help her children with expenses may be made to Sharon Bryers Memorial, details may be obtained by emailing lindabkuster@gmail.com.
