Sharon Kay Binner, 77, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon. In agreement with Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends from
10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. A Funeral Outside of Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral
home conducted by the Rev. David O'Connor. Inurnment will take place at Norwich Cemetery, Martelle.
Sharon was born Aug. 7, 1940, in Martelle, Iowa, the daughter of David and Evelyn (Guhlow) Myers. She graduated from Marion High School and was self-employed. In her later years, she worked at Sam's Club. Sharon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by daughters, Lisa M. (Clifford) Barker of Battle Creek, Mich., Mary Beth (Dale) Sexton of Cedar Rapids and Amy K. (Sheldon) Sellers of Marion; sister, Patricia A. Barrett of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Teisha Barker, Joshua (Sarah) Barker, Johnathon Barker, Candice (Curtis) Gilchrist, Abigail (Nathan) Lench and Andrew Sexton (fiancee Jennifer Johanns); and eight great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Binner; mother, Evelyn Myers; longtime companion, Robert Primrose; and brother-in-law, Manard Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Sharon's memory to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, St. Joseph Catholic Church or Mercy Medical Center.
