Sharon Kay Harris Bemer, daughter of Louis and
Elmira Bemer, born Sept. 6, 1941, in Covington, Iowa,
(a small town near Palo, Iowa) passed June 24, 2018, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.
Sharon graduated from Palo High School and later earned her teaching degree from Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Sharon remarried to Robert L. Harris in 1981. In 1986, they moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to the Prairie du Chien/McGregor area and made their home there. While in the PDC area, Robert and Sharon operated a taxidermy business for several years. Sharon was a substitute teacher for various local schools. She was also a tour guide at the Villa Louis for eight years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Albert; and sisters, Myra and Shirley.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert Harris; sons, Boyd and Brian Owens; daughter, Kimberly Musil; brother, Robert; and a sister, Patricia.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Sharon will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 11 at Huckleberry's restaurant in Prairie du Chien. Food, coffee and punch will be provided. No gifts please.
