Shane Shoemaker, 54, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service, 9 to
11 a.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; son, DuWayne Gail and his wife, Theresa, and their two children, Hayden and Allison; son, Casey and his girlfriend, Samantha and grandpuppy Chunk; father-in-law, Robert Wyman and mother-law, Marlene Wyman, sister, Bridget Garretson: brothers-in-law, Bobby, Steve and John Wyman; sisters-in-law, Amy, Dee and Dawnelle Wyman; and many nieces and nephews.
Shane was preceded in death by his parents, Craig Shoemaker and Lorna Bates Shoemaker.
Shane was born Feb. 11, 1968, in Marion, Iowa. He married Judy Shoemaker on Sept. 24, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He worked for many years as an auto glass installer in the Marion and Cedar Rapids area. He made many friends over the course of his career.
Shane's hobbies included shooting, smoking food for the family and cheering on the Hawkeyes. He loved spending time with friends and family, having the grandkids over for sleepovers and wrestling his grandpuppy, Chunk. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, Judy. Shane will be remembered as a hardworking man who always put the needs of others before his own.
