Shane Maillie, 45, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at his home. Services: 3 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial will be at a later date.
Shane is survived by his parents, Glenda Miller and Roy Maillie; siblings, Tammy (Mark) Zimmerman and Tina (Kevin) Schoner; aunts, Tina O'Quinn, Terry Wolstenholme, Barb Gipper and Sandy Maillie; uncles, Brad Maillie and Rocky Zimmerman; grandmothers, Adrienne Zimmerman and Shirley Maillie; nieces and nephews, Rachel, Chelsea, Kyler and Stevie; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louie and Betty Maillie; maternal grandfather, Glen Zimmerman; aunt, Jane Briant; uncle, Walter "Gator" O'Quinn; and stepfather, Harold Gene Miller.
Shane was born Sept. 18, 1970, in Milwaukee, Wis., son of Roy Maillie and Glenda Zimmerman. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1989. He worked at Millwright Local 2158 for 25 years.
Shane had a huge heart. He enjoyed bicycle rides and was an avid Raiders, Kernels, Brewers and Iowa fan. Shane will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
