Shackelford, Evelyn L. 'Eva Lou'

Evelyn L. “Eva Lou” Shackelford, 87, of Coggon, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Central City. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour before services on Saturday. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Forrest “Shack”; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eva Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Randy; two brothers, DeLoy and George Price; and a sister, Lucille Porter.

Eva Lou was born Feb. 23, 1923, the daughter of Elmer and Lena (DeLancey) Price, in Stockton, Calif. On Aug. 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to Forrest “Shack” Shackelford in Kahoka, Mo. She worked at Collins Radio and Turner Co., retiring in 1978. Eva Lou was a Gold Star Mother. She loved flowers, gardening, and playing cards. 

Eva Lou will be missed by many.
